Deep Sea frequently catches Yellowfin Tuna (Ahi), Blue Marlin, Stripped Marlin, Mahi Mahi (aka Dorado, Dolphin fish), Ono (aka Wahoo), Aku (aka Skipjack Tuna).

Some of the best fishing grounds are located off of the North Shore of Oahu. Honolulu charters must travel more than two hours to reach the fishing grounds. Where as Haleiwa boats can reach the north shore fishing grounds in half the time. This gives you more fishing time.

We do not offer shared charters so we can give the customer the best experience.

There is no set best time. Nature cannot fully be predicted and many factors such as tide, season, wildlife pressure, current changes, sea surface temperature, etc all have the ability to influence fish behavior.

Yes, we normally ask all members of the group to be at least 9 years old due to safety reasons and the fact that we use heavy gear.

Bring anything you would like to eat or drink. We ask that you try to avoid bringing glass bottles for safety reasons. Hawaii liquor laws prevent the sale of liquor between 11pm- 6am ; therefore if you would like to bring alcoholic drinks on your trip we recommend purchasing them the a day in advance. We will have all the ice and cooler space you need. Sunglasses (preferably polarized)/sun protection are a good idea. Oh and please do not bring bananas. Mahalo nui.

Departure time depends on the season and type of charter. Captain Matt will contact you the day before the charter to brief you on the details of when and where to meet.

Deep Sea Sportfishing Hawaii operates out of Haleiwa Small Boat Harbor. We will typically meet your group at the loading dock but the exact location will be specified when Captain Matt checks in with you the day before. Click here for directions.

No, it is currently not required to purchase a fishing license. We provide all of the fishing equipment and tackle.

Yes, we work with Gray Taxidermy. You can inquire about mounting your catch with Captain Matt.
